Product Profile: Palamoll®
Product Description: Palamoll plasticizers are polyesters based on adipic acid, that serve as primary plasticizers, and are most commonly used in flexible PVC. Due to their chemical structure and large molecular size, our range of Palamoll plasticizers are designed to handle many of the tough applications that are not achievable when using general purpose plasticizers. Depending on the end-use, we likely have a high performing Palamoll plasticizer that will work for you. When using these large softeners, one can extend the use of flexible PVC into demanding applications such as those that require oil resistance or resistance to UV degradation. Palamoll products will also extend the service life of products, since these molecules are large and stable and due to their resistance to migration, they will remain in place and functional for many years to come.
Characteristics: • Low migration into contact materials such as plastics, bitumen, adhesives… • Excellent extraction resistance to hydrocarbons, oils, fats, water… • Low volatility at higher temperatures • Outstanding UV stability in tough outdoor weathering applications
Processing: Palamoll® plasticizers can be processed by any method applicable to typical flexible polyvinyl chloride processing, however calendaring and extrusion are the most common processing methods. Compatibility: The Palamoll® product line has a good to very good compatibility with many plastics. They can be used in combination with PVC, PVAc, NBR and many other plastics or elastomers. There is some compatibility differences between the Palamoll products with various elastomers due to their different formulations. Food Contact Legislation: If used unmodified and under the appropriate processing conditions, several of our Palamoll products are suitable for use in food contact packaging, as per EFSA legislation.
