BASF’s Statement on Palatinol®10-P
regarding the EU Risk Assessment for DINP and DIDP
On April 13th, 2006 the Official Journal of the European Union published the outcome of the risk assessments for the two most widely-used phthalates DINP and DIDP.
Based on the results, these phthalates are not classified as hazardous and pose no risk to either human health or the environment from their current use.

In addition, Palatinol 10-P has also been part of the OECD HPV Chemicals Programme. In October 2004, regarding the category of Higher Molecular Weight Phthalate Esters which also includes Palatinol 10-P, the OECD concluded that “the chemicals in this category are currently of low priority for further work because of their low hazard profile.”
